The video conferencing platform has seen an increase in the number of users since the COVID-19 pandemic forced lockdowns in a number of countries around the world. Users expressed a number of security concerns from “Zoombombing” to other more serious security concerns.
These security concerns have forced the company to make a number of major security upgrades to better protect its users. One of which includes a 90-day plan by the company to address these privacy and security concerns. They have also hired several security experts including former Facebook security chief Alex Stamos. It also plans to provide end-to-end encryption for video calls to paying and free users, with a trial version set to be launched this month.
