Vince Flynn was a former sales accountant and aviator. He began writing in order to cope with dyslexia. He, however, blossomed in his work, and his first book, Term Limits, was published in 1998. Term Limits provide the inspiration for the Mitch Rapp character, and Flynn unveiled him in his second book titled Transfer of Power.
